In an industry where products are often discontinued the exact same week they launch for not reaching some mysterious cum-related target, this month marked the 17th anniversary of the seemingly invincible Seventeen by Toy’s Heart.
Originally released back in 2005, Seventeen innovated at the time with its two-layer design and unique ‘skin-like’ material compared to previous onaholes made from Fred Flintstone’s patented crotch crushing concrete. It single-handedly (euheuhe) put Toy’s Heart on the map, who quickly went on to become one of Japan’s biggest sex toy companies.
This is the original box art for Seventeen. Making a 2005 release looking like it came from 1995 is pretty impressive.
While the classic wank tube has since seen countless spin-offs and even a few parody designs from other companies over the years, Seventeen amazingly still remains in production to this day. When I visited the Toy’s Heart office a few years ago I was surprised that they still made it – exact same material and everything – but today in 20XX? Weooow.
Back then I was informed the onahole basically found new eternal life in Southeast Asia. Perhaps that’s still the case? I dunno man, it’s kinda hard to get a feel for sex toys stores when you live in Australia where decaying shit from Pipedream and half-eaten meat pies dominate the shelves.
Here’s Seventeen’s redesigned box art, replacing the character’s iconic plastic bag dress with some striped pyjamas.
While it’s still possible to buy the original Seventeen in Japan itself, Toy’s Heart seem to be celebrating the occasion more with Seventeen Bordeaux (released a few years later) which remains a popular option over there. Few Japanese retailers seem to bother with the original anymore.
Over the past few weeks the company has been running various competitions and promotional events to celebrate the occasion, including a tissue giveaway (??), discounts on the entire Seventeen range and the chance to win a fancy gift card.
A brand new entry in the Seventeen range has also launched, with Seventeen Alpha (seen in the top right above) coming equipped with a uuuuhh ‘Pipe Gimmick’ tunnel? Good. Seems like it would have been a prime opportunity to release one called Thirty Four, but oh well.
There’s always the parody toy by RUBY… Seventy. :’)
Also holy shit, Seventeen Bordeaux was one of the very first onaholes I ever reviewed, back when I still had a flip phone and had to upload photos in 640×480 otherwise my laptop would overheat trying to browse my own blog. Good times.
Big congrats to Toy’s Heart! Here’s to another seventeen years I guess!
Damn, thats some good box art.
The 17 Bordeaux Soft was my very first onahole, some… 7? Years ago, had some very good times with it. Maybe I should buy another just to remember the feeling that got me into this rabbit hole…
